At the same moment, insensitive comments from an Ottawa politician sparked massive public outcry, and national media coverage. Politician Man, released prior to Canada’s last federal election, is Sutherland’s response. The award-winning video was created by animator Justin Stephenson (Gord Downie’s The Secret Path) and speaks to Canada’s troubled relationship with First Nations in a visually powerful way.
