Adrian was honoured to see his song Scared reach number one spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown (IMC) Top 40 chart during the weekend of the JUNO Awards.
"This is one of my favourite songs from the album," he said. "Everything in our world seems messed up and scary at times. It's hard to see ahead, and to feel hopeful when your eyes are full of tears."
"Where is all the love gone to? There's no question, the world needs more love. That's what Scared is about," he said.
Adrian appreciates the support of those taking time to vote for Scared on the IMC, and adds 'chi miigwetch' to all the radio stations for continuing to make space for music by Indigenous artists. He extends further kudos to everyone at NCI FM involved in producing the countdown.
Adrian Sutherland acknowledges his cowriters - brothers Chris and Matt Gormley - both talented musicians and songwriters, as well as Colin Linden who produced, recorded, mixed and performed guitars and harmonies on the song.
