Don Politico (Politician Man) was inspired by the 2019 ‘protest song’ Politician Man, released in response to the contaminated water crisis in Adrian Sutherland’s Cree community of Attawapiskat. Upon receiving an influx of fan emails from around the world, the idea was sparked to one day make 'international' duet versions. Don Politico (Politician Man) is the first of these versions, with English vocals by Adrian from remote Northern Canada, and Spanish vocals by Rodrigo Massa from urban South America (Brazil/Mexico). This hard-hitting single delivers the urgent message of ‘people over politics’ and the need for politicians to stop playing games and start governing for the people – not themselves. A timely message sure to resonate globally.
